About the Terramac RT-Series Crawler Carrier

The Terramac RT9 Crawler Carrier built by the Ernest-Spencer Specialty Manufacturing Division’s South Topeka facility.

The RT-Series Crawler Carriers from Terramac are innovative, versatile machines built for accessing areas where traditional wheeled equipment simply can’t go. To tackle rough terrain and unstable ground, Terramac’s run on rubber tracks which create low ground pressure to move across the surface. This is especially useful to industries and activities that require extreme transport and access, such as forestry, agriculture, construction, utilities and railroads. Multiple bed and equipment options provide severe duty functionality customizability, and the unique chassis design makes adding attachments easy. Terramac’s mission is to create high-quality tracked carriers that change the way industries operate.

Ernest-Spencer is proud to partner with CK Power to build the Terramac Crawler Carriers. CK Power is a leading manufacturer, distributor, and service provider of power generation, powertrain, and off-highway power solutions.

About the “Coolest Thing” Competition

The Kansas Manufacturing Council (KMC) presented the 2022 Coolest Thing Made In Kansas competition to showcase the state’s manufacturing industry, which employs one out of 11 Kansas workers. Any product that is made in Kansas and using a manufacturing process qualified for the Peoples’ Choice contest.

The contest began with product nominations (by the manufacturer) and a first round of voting. The top 16 vote getters advanced to tournament-style bracket where they competed in head-to-head match ups. The product that received the most votes in each match up advanced to the next two rounds, narrowing the field to the four winners from the match up round. The four remaining contestants participated in a final winner-take-all voting round, with the product receiving the most votes receiving the ultimate prize – being named the 2022 People’s Choice Coolest Thing Made in Kansas.

The People’s Choice winner was announced during the Kansas Manufacturing Summit on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Kansas Star Casino and Event Center.
